Profile
Miriam Moran Shankman
I come from a long line of teachers. My grandmother, mother, aunt, and three of my siblings have made their living in education. I have been teaching for the past twenty years, and wish to continue for the next twenty.
I am certified as a Level III Advanced Teacher with the National Qigong Association, and as a Medical Qigong Therapist with the International Institute of Medical Qigong.
I have worked with young children in many nursery schools and have trained students of all ages and abilities in the fields of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Meditation.
My first teacher was my mother. Ruti Moran was an insightful observer of life, a passionate artist, and a devoted teacher. From her I learned about the evolution and merits of creativity, intuition, structure, and mistakes. My first Tai Chi teacher was Jou, Tsung Hwa. Master Jou loved, lived, and believed Tai Chi. I learned from him about abdominal breathing with all its manifestations and the new possibilities they have presented to me.
I had and continue to have many teachers. I believe that everyone I encounter along the way has the potential of being a teacher. That potential comes to life when I pay attention and am willing to listen. I have found that my family and students are the best teachers of all.
Highlighted Schools I have worked with:
